  After serving as a Professor, Head of Department of Chemical Engineering, Pt. G. B. Pant Chair professor of Environmental Pollution Abatement, and Dean, Saharanpur Campus of IIT Roorkee for about 40 years( December 1975 to June 2015), I moved over to Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad as a Professor of Chemical Engineering. Have published 176 research papers in peer-reviewed journals with about 4150 research citations and a h-index of 33 (Scopus), and guided 19 Ph.D. theses, handled a number of research and industrial projects. Currently working on Emulsions-treatment of oily wastes, flow of emulsions , stability of emulsions, hazards from natural gas pipelines , treatment of recalcitrant chemicals using advanced oxidation processes, etc. Show less

  I joined the University of Roorkee, now IIT Roorkee, as a Lecturer in 1975, rose to become Reader and Professor, and then was made Head of Department of Chemical Engineering from 1991-94, and 1999-2001. In between 1980-82, I was at the Leibnitz University of Hannover, Germany for Post-Doctoral Research in the area of Biotechnology. Was appointed Dean, Saharanpur Campus and served for about 8 and half years as Dean. After superannuation and extended appointment uptill 30th June, 2015 at IIT Roorkee, I was invited to join as a Professor iof Chemical Engineering at Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad (soon to be converted into an IIT). Joined ISM on July1, 2015. Presently serving as Professor & Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, ISM Dhanbad. Show less
