Self-Powered Through-Wall Data Communication for Nuclear Environments - U.S. Department of Energy Project. The objective is achieved with the collaborative effort of two universities a national laboratory and a company through three innovations: (1) directly harvest electrical energy from the gamma-ray using the gamma heating and thermoelectrics, and from the beta radiation using betavoltaics. My role in this project was to transmit sensory data through the metal wall and thick concrete via “mode conversion” based ultrasound technology and expand to different stages, and to creatively design and pack high-temperature electronics circuits with radiation-hardening and/or shielding inside the enclosed nuclear vessels. I developed and demonstrated enabling technology for data communications for nuclear reactors and fuel cycle facilities. I utilized radiation and thermal energy harvesters and an Arduino controller/device to send the initial “Hello World” signal to the function generator. • Designed AM modulator and AM demodulator circuit devices.• Used PZT piezo transducers as the transmitter and the receiver to transmit data through the metal wall.• Tested the experimental model in different ranges of temperatures.• Employed a laser beam as a receiver to receive signals from the Metal wall. Mobile NDT Monitoring Robot - Department of Defense Project.I was the designer for the DoD-sponsored NDT Monitoring Robot project. I designed a Thermal camera able to capture a thermal image of an object, using raspberry pi 3B+ to send audio and thermal image signals via Wi-Fi, and designed a Robotic Arm with a hammer to perform a tapping test (coin tap method). The purpose of the project was to inspect the material to determine whether it was corroded and observed pressure leakage using a thermal camera. The design process started with a root cause analysis for the remotely operated arm. A microphone was used to absorb sound created by the tapping test. The project was completed in three months and under budget.• Used NRF24lo1 as wireless communication to operate the Robot car (joystick).• Programmed stepper motor and robot car with Audino.• Designed a functional prototype robot car to investigate the material structure with the ability to climb walls and roofs of a tactical shelter to inspect and monitor multiple aspects of the structure. • The methodology of tapping material enabled observation of the frequency of impact via an oscilloscope.• A microphone received the signal and transmitted it to Raspberry pi and sent to a desktop computer via Wi-Fi as a Wav file, which was converted to FFT graph to analyze the frequency. Gamma irradiation test plan for sample metals using ultrasonic data transmission method The primary purpose of doing the experiment was to establish an understanding of the impact of gamma radiation on three samples that we received from Virginia Tech and observed the signal amplitude using the ultrasonic data transmission method. The components were to be irradiated in the radiation chamber. Their behavior before, during, and after under the irradiation were examined. Arrow Manufactured Products is a contract manufacturer, performing engineered parts to customer specifications. I was engaged in the manufacture of pressure vessels, using Bluebeam Software for sub-drafting for vessels and machined parts. Engineering drawings and documents were developed following geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T-ASMEY14.5. I organized and categorized BOMs for main drafts. • Created system to identify engineering drawings of parts needed for standard drawing format, increasing efficiency. • Contributed to improved manufacturing processes and quality control using DMAIC and SPC methods for manufacturing, following ISO standards, resulting in continuous improvement. • Calculated manufacturer and labor costs of mechanical parts and introduced cost-effective solutions. • Used data-entry software (BizBox) for issued part numbers and applied to main drafts. • Used DMAIC and SPC methods to improve manufacturing processes and quality control Show less

This company was engaged in manufacturing hangar doors for the aviation industry. As a Design Engineer, I applied CAD to draft engineering drawings and used SolidWorks to design models and assemblies. 3D modeling parts were developed for lifting doors of various dimensions. Engineering drawings and documents were created according to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) -ASME Y14.5. • Applied static, dynamic, and flow simulations of the SolidWorks to analyze safety and strength of bottom lifting doors (Hanger Doors for Aviation Industry) according to different wind speeds. • Inspected the final products to ensure compliance with manufacturing and quality standards (ISO 9000). • Conducted engineering testing (troubleshoot) on hanger doors and debugged issues with root cause analysis. • Led welding teams from different states for installations. • By helping improve manufacturing standards and assigning cross-functional teams based on capability, profits increased by $20,000 per month.
