We worked together with Ilya for more than 5 years at DANATEQ. Ilya showed his experience and initiatve to research and implement wide range of tasks mainly in analytics domain. I would recommend to cooperate with Ilya if you need a professional engineer who is ready and equipped to deal with complicated engineering tasks and produce a result. Moreover Ilya is an easygoing person who will strengthen a team.

I know Ilya as highly qualified software engineer with great skills in mixed Windows/Unix environments. He is a man that can solve problems within his responsibility are with telecom servers when situation seems to be fatal and we're running out of time. It's also need to say that he has a passion for movement into another areas which are not related to his current position duties - this can help to find perfect design solution.

Got a role of an Engineering manager. In addition to the responsibilities I had before (though I started to write actual code a bit less) I started to spend more time with people in the team. My calendar became filled with 1-on-1 meetings with Russian Cloud Engineering team (both UI and backend, ~7 members) as well as Product Managers and Engineering leads. For people operations, my main goal was to improve people's sense of ownership of the product and work on individuals' continous improvement. The product itself made several huge steps forward throughout this time. Major fields my team and myself took part of involved: * migration from AWS to GCP, involving major rewriting of lower-level code; * retirement of Adobe Flash in Video Player - it has been rewritten on HTML5. Backend services have been significantly improved; * Cassandra database modelling problems - identifying and fixing them to provide reliable data access; * CI improvement and migration from self-written service to GitHub Actions/Google Builds Show less
