Nordic Business Forum is one of the biggest and most influential business conferences in the world. In previous years Nordic Business Forum has had world class speakers such as President Barack Obama, Gary Hamel, Amy Cuddy, Sir Richard Branson and many others. Customer Service is highly praised at Nordic Business Forum by its 7500 C-level customers (rating from the 2018 event: 5,58/6).I am taking part in the Leadership Program, which provides an opportunity for 16 handpicked students to participate in a series of customer experience and leadership development training sessions. The main goals of the program are to prepare the program participants to work as Team Leaders for groups of students at the event and to equip them with skills, training, coaching and practical experience to prepare them for their future careers. My tasks as a Team Leader will include (but are not limited to): promoting the working opportunity and engaging student candidates, interviewing and recruiting the right students to work at the event, and building and supporting a group of students while they work as Customer Service representatives at Nordic Business Forum 2019 in Helsinki.

I had the privilege to continue in Clarion Hotel Helsinki after my eight week trainee program. As a Welcome Office Agent, my job was to make customers stay as smooth as possible and help them the best way possible. In Clarion, we did it with passion, energy and courage. I did all the reception tasks.In recognition of my enthusiasm, energy and courage as Staff member of Welcome Office at Clarion Hotel Helsinki I was voted to be the Service Hero of August 2018. It was an amazing privilege and I was honored that my contribution was noticed!

I was part of the First Class Service team. Our team encluded First Class drivers and hosts. This year I got to be in a Support Team member role. I was the second hand to our amazing Team Leaders and I got to manage all the 130 drives in two days. I also worked closely with the hosts making sure all First Class customers were on time and in the places they were supposed to be.To be a Support Team member we had to go through written applications and then individual interviews. I got to spread my knowledge from last years Nordic Business Forum to the drivers and hosts and I got to see closely how Team Leaders work. It was such an amazing experience and I got so much good feedback!

I worked as a volunteer at Arrival and Departure Services. I was a First Class Shuttle driver during the event. The job required looking after NBForum First Class seminar guests as part of the customer service team. Preparations included multiple customer service training sessions ahead of the two-day event. To be part of the amazing customer service team you had to have creativity and problem-solving skills, service-oriented attitude and effective and proven English skills - just to mention few. It was a fulfilling experience where I got a lot of motivation towards my upcoming jobs.

My working space included store Shop Caramelli and restaurant Flores Fresh Mex. I worked as a shift leader for dozens of employees. My job was to maintain quality, service and cleanliness in the unit, as well as order the wares. I worked with customer service and I responded to the unit's cost-effectiveness. I also gave guidance and educated my employees. In my turn, I supervised compliance with the regulations issued by the authorities, the amusement park and the department, and reported back to the managers. I learned what skills are needed to handle a group of people. But the most important learning was that together we can make the impossible possible.

I worked in an international environment at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, serving customers from different cultures. My work place was this 11 sq.m little cafe, Freshly Made. For being efficient and getting everything flowing in there, you had to be very organized and tidy. In my work, I had a lot of people coming from different countries, so my working language was often entirely English. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport taught me how to face foreigners as an individual and as a customer. Changing working hours and quick adaption to new situations became very familiar to me.
