I did my professional placement as a project assistant for a project between my school and Xamk called Miljöömatkailu (Milieu tourism). The purpose of the project is to develop tourism in four destinations in Finland, Miettilä historical reserve garrison and Kärnäkoski in South Karelia and the culture park of Ankkapurha as well as the UNESCO heritage site Verla in Kymenlaakso. My role was to find out the current situation of all the destinations, who visits in them, why and so on. My duties were to develop, together with my colleagues, a customer satisfaction survey, attend events, observe, interview people and report about it, among other things. Show less
