Currently, I work as a laboratory technician for the Canada-Africa Monkeypox Partnership (CAMP) Project at the Institute's Microbiology Department. My job roles include reception and documentation of samples collected from suspected Mpox patients, sample processing and diagnosis using molecular and genomic techniques such as Viral DNA extraction, Polymerase chain reaction, genomic sequencing and bioinformatics. I also attend and participate in important conferences and meetings relevant to the success of the project and the institute as a whole and I am very much involved in manuscript writings with respect to research findings.
