The International Centre for Studies about Patagonia (ICSPatagonia or CIEPatagonia in Spanish) is an international multidisciplinary research center of the Faculty of Education, Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of La Frontera. In addition, our associate researchers carry out their activities in the National University of the Argentina Comahue, Argentina-CONICET and the University Austral of Chile. CIEPatagonia aspires to be transformed into a nucleus of high academic productivity linked to the study of the social, cultural, territorial, economic and environmental processes that unfold in Patagonia. The bi-national nature of the Center gives a particularism in a worldwide context. A second element that differentiates this Center is its multidisciplinary nature, incorporating researchers from different disciplines and with the capacity to enter into complex conceptual and epistemological discussions of different academic traditions. Our networks are both national and international and will be further expanded according to the activities proposed in the annual plan.
