  My broad role covered the following main areas; service innovation, delivery & performance, relationship management, organisational development and marketing. For example; • Strategic responsibility for communications service lines. Tasks stretched from identifying needs, markets and and regulatory changes, through to prospect engagement and piloting to contractual issues, scoping work packages, pricing issues and onwards. Special responsibility for strategy and reporting projects • My wide experience and range of strategic management tools enabled me to forge and implement new technical solutions to improve internal and client processes. • Through a structured approach to data checking, site inspection, staff interview and secondary research I provided third-party technical assurance to international standards (f ex. GRI, CDP, ISAE3000, AA1000). Following the evidence trail I looked at policies, procedures and reporting, for example on carbon, water, health and safety and code of conduct etc. I advised on corrective actions, provided public declarations and presented longer-term recommendations via a management report. • Bringing together and managing multi-disciplinary teams with the right mix of competencies was core to my role. I negotiated sub-contractor terms, created and co-ordinated work plans and timelines. It was not all me all the time and delegating responsibilities and monitoring was a core part of team development. • I advised on hot topics in CSR including values and ethics, employee engagement, community affairs, diversity, outputs/impact measurement • As a member of the management team I was responsive to the needs of the business. No two days were alike; at any point I could for example, be in a client progress meeting, comparing competitive tenders, briefing developers on an IT solution or checking contract deviations.
