Liaised with the MoH to prepare and organize training and refresher courses on NCDs management for clinicians and nurses from project supported sites in the Kilosa district. Collaborated with the CHMT in conducting supportive supervision, mentoring and coaching of the trained staff from the project sites. I was responsible for the linkage and referral of breast and cervical cancer diagnosed patients from St. Kizito Hospital Mikumi to the tertially national cancer institute for further management. I was responsible for organizing NCDs screening and outreach screening services in hard to reach areas of the Kilosa district as part of raising community awareness on NCDs. Achievements Established diabetes and hypertension clinics and treatment clubs in four project supported health centres in the Kilosa district. Pioneered the integration of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and breast cancer screening and treatment services into care and treatment clinics (CTC) through fostering a partnership with HIV implementing partners in the region. Chaired and led pediatric department clinical meetings and continuous medical education sessions. Conducted pediatric inpatient ward rounds and outpatient clinic services including the Kangaroo Mother Care, malnutrition and adolescent HIV clinics. Supervised, mentored and coached intern medical doctors and other medical students in the pediatric department. As the Regional Pediatric QI Focal Person, I was involved in conducting supportive supervision, mentioning and coaching of pediatric quality improvement teams in the Morogoro region. Wrote the proposal that saw the establishment of the Acute Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for managing seriously sick children that contributed to a reduction in pediatric mortality by 15% in Morogoro Regional Referral Hospital. As Regional Pediatric QI Focal Person, I led the team that introduced pediatric QI services by establishing Pediatric QI Teams in five districts of the Morogoro region in 2015. The established Pediatric QITs helped improve the management of pediatric HIV cases in the region. Show less
