    • Managing Director
      • Feb 1996 - Present

Design Quintessence started as a one-man band in February 1996 as a design service for the professional lighting industry before we found our niche in truss and staging equipment. Initially, it was as the Australian manufacturer of MEC Truss (under licence), a clever presentation truss designed by the late, well renowned industrial designer, Roland Sollner, in the UK. In 2003 we started our partnership with Global Truss and over the years have grown our small stable of staging product brands, taking on the Australian distributorship of other reputable brands. in 2018 we started manufacturing our own case brand, Ovation cases and it continues to grow in leaps and bounds. Today we have four offices/warehouses across the country in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. We have an outstanding group of employees who will provide a level of service and support you will not experience from any other supplier in our industry. I guarantee it. DQ exists to provide the backbone to the staging and events industries and protect valuable equipment traversing the globe. Our focus is to design and deliver extensive staging and protective transit solutions.

Mapping, graphics and presentations for one Australia's leading oil exploration companies (at the time). From internal reports to presenting geological data to international bid submissions to company annual reports, the work was varied and rewarding. Initially using manual techniques the industry was a very early adopter of technology and the highlight of moving into the CAD world was setting up a CAD department in our Denver office in Colorado.
