I was honored to have the opportunity to be mentored by Ian for 2 years in the Winslow Lab at Stanford. From my very first days of working with him, it was clear to me that he is passionate and sincere about everything he does. Ian’s enthusiasm for science is infectious - seeing the way that he logically analyzes problems and then tackles them creatively with a smile made me fall in love with research. I have not only learned a lot from his scientific skills and depth of knowledge, but also from his exemplary attitude, rigor, and hard work. Ian has been a role model for me, and his mentorship has been the biggest inspiration to my career.
