In this role I worked as a self employed Motorcycle Instructor delivering training for Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) courses provided by Phoenix Motorcycle Training. In the role I was responsible for delivering classroom training, practical rider training in an off road environment and on road rider training and assessment as required by the DVSA CBT syllabus. The role involved practical demonstration of motorcycle rider skills and assessment of rider ability throughout the training programme.I would assess the learning needs of my candidates and provide motivation and support throughout the training sessions. The on road element required observation and assessment plus ongoing dynamic risk assessment which is important when taking novice riders out on the road for the first time.An extremely rewarding role and one which brought great job satisfaction when taking riders from complete novices to the level where they are considered competent enough to be granted their CBT certificate. • CLOCS Programme Consultant
      • Jul 2013 - Sep 2015

I worked as an expert consultant in road safety for the Construction Logistics Cycle Safety (CLOCS) programme. The project was being delivered for Transport for London by AECOM and I worked with their Freight Team. I was responsible for delivering a work stream that looked at the Health and Safety issues in relation to the amount of collisions involving construction traffic and vulnerable road users, particularly cyclists. I was responsible for the design and implementation of an effective Collision Reporting system for use by the Industry known as CLOCS Manager. This system allowed for real time reporting of collisions by companies and uniquely allowed industry comparison and provision of shared good practice in relation to reducing collisions. This was a truly unique and rewarding opportunity to work with industry both in London and around the UK and also with Transport for London, Highways England and Scotland, and Road Safety professionals.
