A position in production became available so I applied for the role and transitioned from exploration into mining as a pit technician. My role involved;-Marking up ore blocks-Ore spotting-Installing and detecting BVI's-Calculating specific gravity of samples-Taking moisture samples -Sampling stockpiles -Picking up grade control samples -Logging grade control and blast holes-Mapping pit walls with emphasis on structural and lithological feautures-Data entry and database management Minor surveying using Trimble software to set out and pick up RC holes, provide TBM's, no dig lines and ore markups Show less
