Makes recommendations for hiring, and completes performance evaluations, terminations, disciplinary and commendatory actions for assigned personnel. Ensures assigned staff receive appropriate training and promotes safety awareness. Demonstrates proper use of equipment and vehicles used in the Recycling Dept. Maintains recycling collections records and related documents. Performs Recycling sub-unit job activities such as operating forklifts, bailing cardboard, sorting recyclable materials, shredding paper, and sweeping/cleaning the recycling processing center. Responsible for security, safety and maintenance of all resources, equipment and supplies for the department and reporting malfunctions or discrepancies. Prepares requests for materials and supplies and initiates purchase requisitions.
