In 2019 I led the corporate sponsorship for the Everest Rugby Challenge 2019 which set two world records playing the highest game of rugby at 6,500 meters on Everest and raised over £250,000. I secured £150K of pro bono work from Deloitte to build a Business Intelligence Tool. This gave us live data on the geographical areas and sectors that needed immediate support and with this information we could deploy funds extremely effectively. I supported national events including The Rugby Ball, Scrum Dine with Me and The Wooden Spoon Regatta with sponsorship, high profile auction items, table sales. I recruited and managed celebrity ambassadors to attend fundraising events and represent the charity. I was responsible for all Wooden Spoon merchandise and promotional items. Show less

The London Studios are the television studios and media resources of ITV based on London’s Southbank. As well as producing award winning television the studios have a variety of different uses including high profile corporate events. The Business Communications department is a specialist unit selling facilities and services to a diverse group of corporate clients. These include blue chip companies, public relations firms, marketing & event organisers and corporate production houses. I was responsible for securing new business, showcasing the facilities to potential clients and working with the production team on the the event schedule and budget. I pitched Guinness the idea of using Studio 1 as the venue for a gala dinner to launch the 1999 Rugby World Cup. The initial idea was born when I was showing a potential client Studio 1. When a tv studio is not being used the floor is painted black and it has a white 360*cyc, which reminded me of a pint of Guinness! They loved it and we held a dinner for 250 rugby legends which included a live link to Nelson Mandela & Francois Pienaar in South Africa. Projects included: • British Airways One World Launch • Guinness 1999 Rugby World Cup Launch • Benetton F1 Team Launch • HSBC Worldwide conference • Yell.com Awards Gala Dinner • UK Diversity Awards Conference and Dinner This was a valuable period, where I gained vast experience of initiating and creatively managing complex projects within the constraints of tight budgets and stringent deadlines for high profile clients. I volunteered to become a member of the ITV community support team. Once a week we went to a deprived school in the East End of London where I became a reading mentor to some of the pupils. • Jun 1985 - Jul 1993

In 1985 I joined forces with another sales professional and an administrator to satisfy a gap in the high quality hosiery market. Importing women’s tights from a leading UK manufacturer, we initially sold directly to the public through market stalls. Clients included buyers from up-market boutiques and major department stores, who encouraged us to establish a wholesale business. The introduction of children’s tights to our portfolio catapulted the company into a different league, involving brand design, specialist packaging and a larger team of people. I had responsibility for establishing a telephone marketing team and a net work of reps both in the US and Europe, additionally I organised all of the national and international trade shows. Our achievements included: * Major contracts with Macys, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom. * Development of "Private Label" * Annual turnover $3 million * Products available worldwide This was an exceptional "learning by doing", which honed my commercial skills, especially in customer relationship management. NYC had a huge homeless issue in the late 80’s. We set up a food and water pick up from 6 local restaurants for unsold food which otherwise would have been thrown out. We knew several areas where there were people sleeping rough and we delivered this too them. Show less
