What is SALES philosophy?A question I’ve been asked 100’s, maybe 1,000’s of times, and I’ve never lost any passion in my answer:SALES isn’t anything to be afraid of & there’s certainly no need to feel any F.E.A.R. – neither is it complicated, in fact it’s very simple…Selling is only ever about providing one thing: PEACE OF MIND - no matter the Product or Service, no matter the Industry, no matter whether it’s B2C or B2B…SALES is about helping PEOPLE solve a problem.SALES is all about doing GOOD in the World – if you have a Product or Service which can help someone solve a problem, then SALES is the process which will help that happen!And if someone’s insistent on Selling when it won’t help them, just for money… they’re a CON-MAN not a Salesman - tell them so & never be afraid to tell everyone else too! They give human beings a bad name & should be run out of any & all industries… they disgust me – Wolf of Wall Street? Providing Small Business owners peace of mind through tailored Accounting packages based on fixed fees.Throughout this time I developed a new approach to Accounting and Bookkeeping training through a new practical approach which looks at the reality of business rather than merely the theory of Accounting.Approachable Accounting became part of the Valdivia Group in 2009 when I stood down as the principle and became a project manager across the Valdivia Group. Working with Greenpeace, Tall Ships and various private sailing yachts my time was split between sailing around Europe and short breaks ashore in the UK working as a manager in several sectors such as retail.Greenpeace operations require professional Sea Officers as well as volunteers; working closely with TV crews was a large part of the role; ensuring overall operation safety was at all times the main concern during these, sometimes, dangerous operations at sea.Working aboard Tall Ships across Europe gave me the opportunity to help young people gain invaluable experience which helped them develop teamwork and leadership skills, as well as technical sailing abilities.During the Cutty Sark Tall Ships race in 2000, I was able to help disadvantaged young people experience what many call an experience of a lifetime. It was during this time that the Valdivia Group as a concept emerged, growing away from sea operations to envelope all aspects of business enterprise; helping small business owners to navigate their own individual journeys.

At the age of 16 I became the youngest Navigation & Communications Officer trainee with Chevron Oil Co. working in their Northern European fleet of Crude Oil Tankers around the world.Working at sea forged my philosophy of work ethics - do your job properly or people get killed........ at sea it's that simple.My experience working with Chevron allowed me to circumnavigate the globe, experiencing places and cultures around the world. North America, South America, Africa, Middle East, and the Far East were among some of the most interesting places I have ever visited.Working with people with other cultures who spoke different languages both put to the test and strengthened my communication skills which have been the core of my further growth and success.
