I interned in the office of Chairman Chuck Martin (Higher Education), Chairman Noel Williams Jr. (Banks and Banking), Chairman Todd Jones (Technology & Infrastructure Innovation), and Chairman Gerald "Dean" Greene (State Properties). I assisted the chairman and administrative assistants with preparing committee folders, answering the phone lines, responding to constituent emails, writing bill summaries, making copies, and any other intern duty assigned to me. I was a tutor for the TRIO program, which prides itself on educating first generation, low income, and physically/mentally impaired students. I helped tutor students in statistics and political science classes. I also created weekly e-workshops and handouts for students to use for extra studying practice. When able to, I also assisted with secretarial duties such as answering the phone and helping any student/staff that walked into the office. As a canvasser, I went door to door collecting data on if people planned to vote, where people planned to vote, who they planned to vote for, and if they needed any assistance with paying bills. The Abrams campaign provided constituent services that would help low income families with financial issues, and I was the middle man for that process to occur. Starting out as a host at The Mad Italian, I sat customers in the different sections of the restaurant as to not overwhelm any server. My other duties were to clean tables and the bathrooms, roll silverware, take to-go orders, and create a waitlist when needed. Afterwards, I became a food runner who prepared to-go orders, plated the food, brought the food out, and cleaned the kitchen. These two positions prepared me to become a server, after I got my alcohol license. Besides serving the food, I would help other servers take orders, run the food when the food runners were busy, and at the end of the night I would help sweep and mop the floors. No matter the position I held at the Mad Italian, the key was communicating with the staff and customers to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant. All three roles would do the jobs of the other roles since the restaurant would often get incredibly busy and we needed to help out wherever we could. Show less

As an Aftercare Worker, I worked to prevent any accidents that may have occurred while the kids were under my care. If an accident did occur, I would provide the appropriate basic medical attention. Also, I monitored nap time, playtime, bathroom time, and snack time. If one of the other kids had an accident, I changed their diaper. Lastly, I played with these kids and made sure they had a good, safe time. As a Host, I engaged in customer service by informing customers where to receive pick up orders, the location of the restrooms, and general Frankie’s information. My main job entailed showing the customer their table and handing out menus. I worked around reservations and helped clean the windows, menus, and silverware. Frankie’s helped hone my customer service skills and restaurant experience. As a pool attendant, I would enforce pool rules, interact with the public, measure kids and adults on slides, clean up the bathrooms, and work with lifeguards to let kids go safely down the slides. This was my first job and it taught me a lot in customer service, responsibility, and teamwork. We had many team meetings and bonding opportunities to work together to make our public pool safe and inviting.
