I develop and produce some of Ireland’s biggest original podcast series for Wireless & News UK and Ireland. My diverse skill-set and knowledge of the podcasting industry has allowed me to work in a variety of roles on some of the country’s most popular and innovative podcast series. In 2021, I wrote, produced, hosted and sound designed ‘The Making Of A Detective’, a chart topping narrative true-crime series which became one of Ireland’s most listened to podcasts of that year. The series currently has a 4.9* rating from over 600 reviews across Apple & Spotify. My position is truly multidisciplinary. When I began the role, it was the first of its kind in the company allowing me to create and develop our organisation’s digital audio strategy from its inception. As we look to expand on our current output and continue to create new series going forward, content development and commercial strategy has become more important than ever. This allows me to work closely with our sales team, editorial staff from across our business as well as our distribution partners such as Acast and Apple. My ability to work as a producer, writer, sound designer and host while carrying out editorial, commercial and strategy roles has left me with an extremely well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of this growing industry. As part of my job I have also created branded audio for series for national clients. In 2021, I produced multiple series for Just Eat & The Government of Ireland, helping to deliver their message in a creative and engaging way. Each series saw me involved in helping to create a vibrant social campaign to promote and bring each podcast to life, as well as supporting on-air campaign across our radio brands. Other stand-out original series I have created include IMRO 2021 nominated Grief Encounters, One Fab Day - Europe’s biggest wedding planning website & Viral Covid-19- a BAI backed initiative documenting Ireland’s journey through the pandemic.

I worked as a part of Americas only food and beverage focused radio station for five months during my stay in New York. This incredible experience was unlike any I had been involved in before. The non-profit work environment gave me a real insight in what it entails to run and manage a radio station from the bottom up. My roles included maintaining the studio and equipment, fundraising and seeking potential underwriting opportunities, interacting and liaising with hosts and guests alike, and organising and archiving content from through out the stations seven year lifespan.

Excelling in Dublin’s largest commercial radio station over the past seven years, in various on- air, production and technical roles, has given me the opportunity to work on practically every show in the station. I have had a wide range of responsibilities including creating weekly reports, producing Dublin’s largest drive-time show and presenting FM104’s night-time network on numerous occasions. This fun and creative environment allowed me to develop my production skills, create a network of industry contacts and gain more understanding into how a large media operation functions.

I completed a year-long internship in Ireland’s national talk radio station, on two weekly shows; Down to Business and Davenport After Dark working closely with the shows’ producers to help create a consistently successful media product. My roles included booking all manner of guests for interviews, developing interesting content, creating on-air reports and vox-pops, and researching a wide variety of topics for discussion. The position also hugely enhanced my organisational and PR skills. Both shows were extremely interesting to work on and gave me a real insight into the hectic but rewarding world of talk radio.
