Game Designer

Oct 2017 - Present
At the start of September 2022, I joined the Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales team as a Game Designer, supporting their work to add more content and variation to the game as we relaunched and continue to develop the game under Netflix. In late December 2018, I became Our World's Live Coordinator. I maintained the live game and kept it updated with new events, sales, and features to drive engagement and revenue. This required working with marketing, analytics, and the game team to ensure all content, functionality, and balance were designed, tested, and in place. During Our World's soft launch, I took on a new role as Game Master, the liaison between player support and the game team. Representing players to the game team on issues such as retention, events, sales, game, and economy balance, and from the game team to Player Support framing messaging to players on the same issues and deciding on compensation when problems in the game arose. My first position at Next Games was as a Player Support Specialist supporting The Walking Dead titles No Man’s Land and Our World. We would gather feedback, resolve complaints, and give advice on gameplay. In addition to this, I was also responsible for writing player-facing FAQs for both NML and OW, keeping them up to date as the games developed, and oversaw their localization to all supported languages. From the shell of a building, we dreamt of creating businesses and designing social outreach projects that would impact and improve the lives of people in the Jakomäki area. Entrepreneurship doesn't get more real than grabbing a hammer and saw to build the offices and workshop you need to set up and run a business. Work began with practical hands-on construction tasks including drywalling, plastering, and painting. It also required scheduling, planning, networking, and marketing skills; not to mention many, many meetings. The first completed project was building a carpentry workshop to establish a self-sustaining business that would support the greater vision of our enterprise. Show less

A brilliant job, immersed in the exciting and challenging world of start-ups and entrepreneurship. As a writer for ArcticStartup I was responsible for covering all the latest news and breaking stories across the Nordic and Baltic states. Interviewing CEO's; rubbing shoulders with investors and thought-leaders at conferences across Europe; pitching story ideas; supporting ArcticEvening events in the Baltics to promote Arctic15, our annual start-up conference in Helsinki; selling advertising. As part of a small team, I was involved in a bit of everything ArcticStartup did. Show less
