  This position has not only refreshed those skills I developed working at target, but further honed them. It has also provided me with opportunities to better familiarize myself with the community of a workplace environment and to work under the conditions of a global pandemic. The latter was and continues to be an eye-opening and revelatory experience that has granted me a greater understanding of the plight faced by workers in the United States from a hands-on perspective.   Working at JAC has allowed me to service an underrepresented minority population of artists via working to spread information and maintain a cohesive and well-informed community. Here I have learned to function effectively in a remote work environment, acquired experience in the advocacy field, refined my ability to write concisely without loss of critical information, and ultimately form meaningful bonds with coworkers while developing a genuine connection to, and appreciation for, the community I serve. I've been able to improve skills as an editor and even roup speaker, as well as aquring all manner of different and unexpected profeicncies I had not anticipated whilist working in this postion.   This position proved to be quite advantageous in terms of helping me develop abilities such as effective interpersonal communication between myself, customers, and other employees, as well as improving on my workplace discipline and time management abilities. I was able to adjust to changes in policy and perform tasks that other workers were reluctant to perform, such as collecting the shopping carts from outside, and cleaning the outdoor trash bins. But the most valuable skills that I honed whilst working here consist of remaining professional regardless of circumstances and gaining a better understanding of people as a whole. Overall this was an excellent work experience that helped me to develop on a personal and professional level. Show less
