I have been working with Chris, who is my coach, for around 18 months and the insight he has provided to me in that time has been invaluable. Chris has an amazing talent for remembering the significant and the trivial pieces of information I talk to him about and re-presenting those to me at absolutely the right time to make me think, to challenge me and to help me find the answer I need at that point in time. He is always professional, calm, thoughtful and empathetic in our discussions. He never seeks to put words in my mouth and always gives me the space to think and reach my own answers. He is really well read and his book recommendations to me have been excellent - I loved Radical Candor and I can’t wait to start his latest recommendation from today’s session. Chris has made a huge difference to my outlook, my confidence, what I deliver and achieve and, most importantly, as well as being my coach, I count him among my friends. I’m incredibly lucky to have him as my coach and I can’t recommend him highly enough. If you are looking for a great coach, he’s the one.

I've had the pleasure and benefit of coaching from Chris over the last 12 months, the difference his skills, knowledge and experience has had on me, my work, my thought process, my results is amazing! Chris is an absolute professional with a true gift for helping YOU solve your problems, widen your outlook or challenge your perspectives in a way that stretches you, challenges you, builds you into a better more knowledgeable person...all through exploring and learning more about yourself and then applying techniques he guides you towards that make a difference, achieve results and creates a new dimension you didn't know you had. I can not recommend Chris highly enough as a coach, if you are considering him, STOP, just send him that email or pick up the phone to him. Investing in yourself by working with Chris will be a decision you will thank yourself for!

The Deb Group has 1000+ people based all over the world. This was a period when Deb was trying to maintain its culture during a period of fast growth following a recent acquisition. My office was at Headquarters in Denby, Derbyshire. In this role: • I worked with the board to create the Group's first communications infrastructure (from a standing start). • I acted as advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on sensitive issues such as Brexit and business acquisitions. • I created and led an international internal communications task force which championed 'engagement' globally. • I led on the development of an external communications framework for the business which coordinated global PR activity and established a 'Group' voice. The Saint-Gobain Delegation UK & Ireland services 17,000 employees across more than 1000 locations. In this role:* I worked alongside the Director of Communications to design, develop and execute the communications strategy on behalf of Saint-Gobain Delegation UK & Ireland. * Was responsible for the communication of global strategy across 30+ UK & Ireland brands. The core challenge was making this meaningful for these brands. * Rolled out Saint-Gobain’s first employer brand campaign which comprises multi-channel internal and external communications, social media presence and strong employee participation. * Reviewed the UK & Ireland Delegation’s approach to CSR reporting and communications - introducing an interactive and digital-first approach. * Project managed the creation of a Foundation for entrepreneurs in the construction industry. This is a core part of Saint-Gobain’s CSR commitment. Show less

    • Internal Communications Manager
      • Oct 2012 - Nov 2014

Part of the Saint-Gobain group, Leicestershire-based British-Gypsum employs 1100+ people across six UK manufacturing sites. In this role I reported to the HR Director and managed a £80k budget - responsible for the development, management and progression of Internal Communications. Achievements: * Following the implementation of the Internal Communications strategy, British Gypsum has seen significant growth (10-20%) in its employees’ engagement with communication. This has been reflected in continued improvement in its Employee and Communication Surveys. * In 2014, amongst other channels, we adopted Gamification methodologies to educate 100 senior employees about our strategic approach. This focus on articulating the company’s strategic narrative has led to greater employee understanding of British Gypsum’s direction and ambition. This was actually the highest uplift in the latest employee survey (+10% yoy). * I was also responsible for leading numerous cross-functional project teams including a scheme of work to establish and introduce an Employer Brand for the business. This involved over 600 people contributing to a picture of ‘why it's great to work at British Gypsum'. This project has been widely recognised as an example of best practice and won ‘Best Brand Initiative’ at the company’s annual recognition awards. * As well as a heavy strategic and consultative focus, this role required tactical delivery including redeveloping an intranet platform (monthly impressions up +500%), launching an internal social media site (20% of the business voluntarily signed up) and overhauling the monthly ‘briefing’ process (to focus on strategic narrative). * I am extremely proud to have left a legacy of more creative and proactive employee-led communication Show less

Based at Boots’ Nottingham Support Office, I was responsible for supporting the Buying Manager in the stewardship of the Baby products portfolio. This was ultimately a ‘stepping-stone role’ whilst I relocated back down to the Midlands. The analytical and market/customer-focused nature of the role however has left a lasting impression on me.
