After a record-setting Rails Girls workshop in Ljubljana that received almost 600 applications, I organized several other free programming workshops for women that more than 1% of all women in Slovenia applied to. As a founding member of CodeCatz (a coding study group in which women are never in the minority), I helped bring Django Girls to Ljubljana in 2014 and led the development of our own CodeCatz workshop in 2016. I also contributed to the Rails Girls Guides, set up the Slovenian Rails Girls website (http://railsgirls.si), and I regularly promoted all these initiatives in the media, schools and at various professional events. One of the 25 members of the Young Advisors Expert Group formed by Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Digital Agenda. The group acted as an informal advisory body in regard of shaping and creation of our future digital society. As part of these activities, I started and led Europe Code Week for two years. EU Code Week is an initiative to get more European citizens excited about computer programming.
