At Colonial I re-established investment and accounting fund functions from under performing external provider. There were some audit problems which caused me to spend six months re-reconciling two years of client transactions by using excel macros and manual investigation. To increase productivity I used a generic scripting language to automate manual processes reducing the workload from the four accounting staff used in the external provider to 1.5 FTE in the entity. The work was then transitioned to the accounting and investment functions in Sydney.

Systems Accountant-Valuations Accountant

I started at Tower as a valuations accountant and was involved in unit pricing and monthly and year end financials. In this role I updated all the valuation models and improved the time frame from 2 hours to ½ an hour a day for valuations by using excel macros to eliminate a number of manual entry tasks.After a year and half I moved into the Systems Accounting role the core projects completed were:• Server & Desktop Replacement• Registry System Replacement• Accounting System Replacement Group ProjectIn the registry system replacement I looked after:• The accounting requirements including doing validation of the data conversion. •Custom word application for client communication • After training became the DBA of the systemIn the accounting system replacement project I ran the data conversion for more than 140 separate accounting entities from two different systems into a people soft solution. My training in this project was for two weeks in Melbourne at the Peoplesoft training centre.
