IT Project Manager

2011 - Apr 2019
In this role I was part of a small team delivering to customers with a diverse range of business interests. Whilst the variety of assignments kept the work fresh, it was also enormously challenging, I needed to be up to speed quickly on new requirements, technologies, or process, and form new working relationships with customers and delivery teams, all the while juggling a demanding portfolio with other important projects. There was always pressure, always tight timescales, always budgetary concerns and this translated to constant re-prioritisation in order to satisfy customer expectation.I’d initially start by supporting customers through project initiation, then I’d be responsible for producing a Project Management Plan, managing solutions, and transitioning into service. During this time I’d be accountable for: Resource Planning; producing a Budget and a Schedule; a Quality Plan, RAIDO Management; Lessons Learned; managing a Delivery Team; and/or managing the Commercial Engagement of Suppliers; Stakeholder Management; Reporting; and ultimately successful Delivery.Key Achievements:• Successfully delivered 10-20 projects per year with a total annual budget of about £1 million including: - Business Applications – software application development, purchase of COTS products, multi-site/customer application upgrades - Telecoms and IT Infrastructure Deployment - commissioning/de-commissioning offices; roll out of new technologies and upgrades; PC Refresh; data and server migrations - Business Change - cost reduction programmes, company merger planning (npower with SSE), development of agile working/occupancy management strategy, led on a serious incident investigation and improved IT incident response process as an outcome
