I was very pleased to manage to convince Helene to join the team. She had an extensive experience and expertise and she was a strong addition to the group. She is able to go into details and build extensive knowledge of technology and processes, in particular for commercial IT (GDSs, PSS, APIs). She also enjoys looking at the big picture, using her broad industry knowledge to understand trends. As an engineer graduate from a first class school, she built the capacity to handle new subjects, for example currently all the value of data.

In 1995,as head of the Air France Revenue Management department, I was struggling to spread RM culture accross the company. Helene who had freshly graduated from her engineering school was sweating on improving RM algorithms in our current tool. When the decision was taken to move to the next Origin & Destination RM tool, I got her onboard to be the link between the Sabre team implementing this new tool and the RM operations team managing the flights at the time. It was a natural move : in a one year time, thanks to her academical background, she had learnt a lot about RM features and fully understood where I wanted to go with them. There were two challenges with this job: control calculations and data management on the Sabre side, and prepare the change management to come with the internal team. And she did it! What I found the most interesting is the easy way she managed to be both an active member of the Sabre team (multicultural, multiknowledge, and English speakers) in Paris and Dallas, and a trusted expert for the internal RM operations team. The implementation was a success and the tool was used for years.
