Finite Element Simulation of Quenching Process of Metallic Samples with Different Geometries •Parameters for a realistic quenching simulation were defined and their effects were investigated using ANSYS Workbench. •The cooling times for different geometries such as varying diameter, shaft shoulders with different fillet radii, notched geometry, square and rectangle geometries were studied and a relation between cooling rates and respective geometries were derived.
