I spent 2 weeks at Reed Smith to experience the role of a commercial solicitor. I experienced the everyday activities of a commercial solicitor by shadowing a partner in the cooperate sector.I was set a research task to research a new client for the firm. I had to research the client's business and produce a report.I was set the task to ensure that various Case Bibles were up to date in to ensure all the information of directors and owners matched what was on the Case Bible.I shadowed the head of court clerks, where I attended the Commercial Courts. I attended a live case hearing and completed some administrative work. Learnt the history of the courts and the basic functions and running of the courts.
