As a member of the senior management team, my role was to develop and manage a range of services to support the mental and physical health & wellbeing, employment, education and social inclusion of women of all ages and back grounds living in one of the most deprived areas of Bradford district. Reporting directly to the CEO, I was responsible for overseeing and delegating tasks to staff, volunteers and sessional staff to maximize time, resources and productivity. I conducted monthly staff supervisions and annual performance reviews to set professional goals and led the staff team to achieve outcomes required by funders, the CEO and board of trustees. Project managing multiple projects including a women’s only gym, an over 55’s wellbeing group, ESOL courses, youth projects, holiday play schemes, a befriending service for isolated women and an employability programme. I developed 3 new provisions for the organisation which included setting up a new soft play area for 0-4 year olds, a healthy café for women and a youth project working with young people at risk of being drawn in to crime and violence. I planned and co-ordinated services delivery via online platforms during the Covid-19 pandemic to reduce loneliness and isolation of service users of all ages and abilities. I also planned events, attended meetings, managed databases and filing systems, met project deadlines and wrote policies, procedures and monitoring reports for the funders, CEO and Board of Trustees. At LBN I developed, monitored and evaluated multiple projects to meet the needs of ethnic minority communities across Lancashire. Line managing and leading a team of project officers to successfully deliver projects around mental health, employment, advice & guidance, suicide prevention, refugee resettlement, education and organ donation. I co-ordinated and managed one of the largest projects for LBN which was a three year information, advice and guidance project delivered by four member organisations, worth half a million pounds which was funded by The National Lottery. I supported the Chief Officer to write successful funding bids and monitoring reports for funders, commissioners and the Board of Trustees. Through strategic representation and partnership development, I provided support to over 90 existing member organisations to become more sustainable through developing their governance, capacity building, business skills, strategies, funding applications and impact measurement tools. As the Equality Diversity and Inclusion Lead, I developed and delivered EDI training programmes to a range of private and public sector organisations. One of my key achievements was developing and managing the Organ Donation Programme, funded by NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT). This highly successful community engagement and communications campaign involved me working closely with faith and community leaders, NHS senior clinicians, key donors, celebrities as well as those on the transplant waiting list. Key outcomes achieved: 65 faith leaders and Imams trained on organ donation, three Q&A events attended by 2000 people from across the region, 688 people from ethnic minority backgrounds registered on to the organ donation register, national acclaim for the social media campaign which had over 1 million views on BBC Asian Network’s online platform.
