  • Worked as the lead process engineer for a $3mil+ process development and optimization program initially for NASA and currently transitioning from R&D into full scale production.• Designed and conducted process optimization experiments to determine the acceptable process parameter ranges that would synthesize quality coatings consistently.• Analyzed process data to identify most relevant parameters and causes of unsatisfactory coating composition.• Improved the consistency of the process by ~35%, resulting in significantly more quality coatings.• Identified reasons for coating adhesion failure using research literature review and SEM/EDS analysis.• Utilized HSC thermodynamics software to identify and test potential solutions.• Used Solidworks to design reactor setup and used literature to determine initial process parameters.• Developed a surface preparation process to remove surface impurities prior to deposition.• Developed a process with nearly a 90 % rate of successful Ta adhesion, resulting in a viable commercial product!Titanium Oxide (TiO2) onto Inner Diameter of Stainless-Steel tubing Substrates – Commercial R&D• Designed a reactor setup and used relevant literature to establish initial processing parameters.• Overcame a slew of issues including, but not limited to, the presence of a dendritic coating, low quality coating adherence, and poor coating thickness homogeneity.• Examined process data to determine likely causes of failure and held briefings with upper management and the engineering team of the customer to outline the results and the plan of action moving forward.• Successfully deposited a coating that met all three success metrics, crystalline morphology, homogeneous coating thickness down the length of the substrate, and adherence onto the substrate

  Daily engineering affairs such as refining processes, neutralization of harmful by-products, research and development of new processes in deposition style reactors and reactions. As well as management training such as evaluating employees, providing trainings for technicians, and creating presentations for engineering staff. Running experiments and designing reactors of my own to help contribute as well as advance research currently done by Ultramet.
