I am developing novel approaches to modulate stem cell fate. In particular, I am exploring pharmacological approaches capable of enhancing cell survival upon implantation. A thorough understanding of the signalling pathways mediating cell survival is the key to discover novel therapeutic approaches. I am developing novel approaches to modulate stem cell fate. Focused on instructive elements for bone tissue engineering namely how scaffold chemistry and architecture control bone formation by mesenchymal stromal cells and how extracellular matrix contributes to bone formation. I analysed how different signalling pathways are controlled by these above-mentioned cues and how the signals are transduced intracellularly in order to activate target genes.
