    • Marketing and Strategy Manager (Co-Founder)
      • Mar 2012 - Dec 2014

An opportunity arose in 2012 to export a rare food product internationally. Together my business partner and I won entrepreneur competitions, negotiated with members of parliament and gained the support of the Department of Conservation who granted us exclusive permits to pursue our project. We worked to build relations between various stakeholders including farmers, Lincoln University, the University of Canterbury and international importers and exporters within the UAE. We developed and successfully implemented a marketing strategy and created a brand which was well received by our overseas partners and investors. Unfortunately the venture failed however, the lessons I learned were invaluable to my development as a professional.
