About a year ago, I made a decision to move from San Francisco to Marin, an important part of a broader transitional effort. I had a clear view of some of the qualities that I was looking for in my new home - close to nature, spacious, inviting to friends and community, and most importantly...well, home. I am deeply grateful to Hugh for listening and understanding what I was looking to create, and the central role that he played in manifesting and securing what is unequivocally my dream home. I look back on the journey with more than a little amazement at all the steps required to make it happen, and a huge appreciation for Hugh, as he played the role of educator, facilitator, negotiator, and advisor throughout. He educated me about deck and siding work, identified areas of potential cost and risk, and brought in experts to assess projects and repairs. He not only worked diligently through the price negotiation process, but was instrumental in helping to structure it in a way that provided adequate funds for capital projects. Yes, Hugh helped me find and purchase a home that far exceeded my original expectations. As importantly to me, he managed through the oftentimes precarious process with grace and dignity. Thanks and a hearty cheers to Hugh!
