As DOS at the InterContinental if look after the strategic positioning of the resort in our global markets. Our existing markets are Australia and New Zealand. Based on my background and the Resorts direction and charter, I have since employed a Business Development Manager in North America. The BDM North America reports to me and together we chart the direction and strategy for positioning the Resort in North America. I also oversee the opening and development of markets. Markets that I am currently working on are China, India, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Under my portfolio, I also look after the Business Development Manager - Leisure as well as the Reservations, Marketing and Publication Relations Departments.

After 4 years working for a boutique island resort I joined the team at Namale as Manager Sales, Reservations and Boutique Weddings. After less than 6 months, I was able to prove myself with results in sales, marketing, PR, guest services and more to be offered the role of Director of Sales and Marketing. Roles and reponsibilities are as follows: * achieving sales targets set in line with Chief Financial Officer. Markets are set by country and by identified business house in respective countries * identify marketing avenues in all media mediums that will add to potential sales and repositioning * identify public relations activities for the resort - e-meida, publication, radio and television * looking after the loading of all reservations recieved and ensuring that Namale is attaining maximum yiled. Also ensure that all deposits and prepayments are collected prior to handing file over to Finance * maintianing relationships with agents in all countries and always probing for leads and bookings * research and identifying new and emerging markets and then actively persuing them with necessary marketing tools etc to get bookings and returns on investment In a nut shell, this roles allows me to oversee all work related with selling, marketing, public relation, sales, reservations, market repositioning and name branding globally and in new and emerging markets.
