As a concessionist at Regal Cinemas Theatre 721, I was responsible for manual tasks--opening and closing the theatre, preparing hot food in the kitchen, operating the POS system, restocking, cleaning and COVID safety protocols--as well as interpersonal ones: resolving customer service complaints, teaching guests how to use the Regal Cinemas app and reward programs, and--chiefly, creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for guests. As an intern, I was a curator for the Holocaust Center’s museum exhibition Uprooting Prejudice: Conversations for Change. Working with a three-person team, I conducted in-depth secondary research on the history of organized white supremacy in the United States. Using online research databases as well as memoirs, oral history, and documentary footage, I generated in-depth research reports. From this reports, I generated thousands of words of written copy and designed panel mockups. Much of my work was included in the final exhibition. Show less

Following the Parkland school shooting, I created a youth-led gun reform organization. Designed to empower youth involvement in politics, we have 12 member chapters, and over 100 Florida members. As President, I managed our website and social media accounts, published our bi-weekly newsletter, managed volunteers and events, and oversaw all other group operations--including outreach. My biggest strengths lay in media relations, team management, and public speaking. I have been recognized for my work at multiple levels. In November of 2019, I was a delegate at the Peace Jam Youth Summit in San José Costa Rica, where I met with Nobel Prize Laureates Pres. Oscar Arias and Jody Williams. In February of 2019, I was a featured keynote speaker at the Florida Women's March. I also worked closely with local organizers, like Moms Demand Action and the League of Women Voters, attending conferences, panels, and workshops. For two years, I worked as a creative writing tutor for a gifted middle school student. I introduced her to basic story-building techniques, editing tricks, and age-appropriate fiction and poetry. Together, we also edited some of her short stories and novels. My job was to provide an extracurricular academic challenge in the form of warm, confidence-building mentorship.
