Working with Harris as part of the B&Q Youth Board isa pleasure, being very easy to discuss new ideas with and his dedication to the project really paid off. Harris is a key team player for the rest of the group, and helped us to make sure the end result of this study was amazing.

Harris is an excellent individual to work with. He always takes the time to understand and evaluate what other colleagues are thinking and discussing, before adding and enhancing to the dialogue. I would recommend Harris for any role, as he always takes the time to learn and understand the task before him, and is fully committed.

Greens Retail operate a chain of award-winning convenience stores in Scotland, established in 2014! The business is now reporting an annualised turnover in excess of £25 million, with a healthy EBITDA and employing over 300 colleagues. The business is growing at a rapid pace, with a significant acquisition strategy for the current financial year as well as driving real innovation and disruption within the sector. The business has significant immediate growth plans with an anticipated £100m turnover milestone. My role within Greens is to set the strategic direction of the business and ensure this is delivered.

Skwishee is the UK's first self-serve Frozen Fizzy Drink with a consumer-led marketing focus! We developed Skwishee in-house, initially launching the concept within Eros Retail stores and now rolling out to stockists throughout the United Kingdom. In September 2011, I was one of the nine candidates selected out of hundreds of applicants to create B&Q’s first every Youth Board. Each member of the youth board is mentored by one of the actual board directors, in my case, I am being mentored by Nick Folland, Kingfisher’s Legal and Corporate Responsibility Director. The challenge for the Youth Board is to help shape the future of B&Q and parent company Kingfisher by delivering new innovative solutions on specific problems and challenges facing the business, to the main PLC board. The board meets once every 4 - 8 weeks and ensures matters are dealt with in between, mainly by the means of conference calls. Overall, my main ambition and aim is to ensure the success of the group as a whole by looking at and focussing on developing a longer term strategy. It is a truly amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to work with and gain an exclusive insight into such a large multinational conglomerate at the highest possible levels and to shape and influence the retail sector as a whole. After presenting to in excess of 400 of the top leaders in the sector at the Retail Week Conference 2012, I have massively developed my inter-personal skills and communication skills and over the course of the past year, after working with eight other very talented and bright individuals, I have also very heavily developed my presentation, problem solving and most importantly, team work skills.
