Fred Horton

Ms. McMurray was both my student at Wake Forest University and my editor for articles I wrote for the New Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible. I was also pleased to take her on her first excavation in Israel/Palestine to Caesarea Maritima. Ms. McMurray demonstrated during her student years the kind of thoroughness of research, quality of writing, and attention to detail that have served her so well as an archaeologist and as an editor. She is also a gentle spirit with an infectious interest in archaeology that encourages those who work for her to do their best. If she ever spoke a harsh word to anyone, it was not in my hearing. She has all the skills of patience, accuracy, interest, and enthusiasm that will certainly serve her well. Ms. McMurrayone of those students of whom I am most especially proud.

Heather is a fantastic and knowledgeable editor, a brilliant mind, and a trustworthy friend. I greatly enjoyed working with her!
