North West Migrant Forum - Kabalikat in North West

  Acting as public relations officer for Kabalikat, an NGO promoting cultural, cross-community relations and awareness of the Filipino migrant sect, part of the larger North West Migrant Forum in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. This included being an emcee for large formal and social events during the Kabalikat calendar of events, as well as many other communal activities. I had also designed many of the promotional posters and graphics for the organisation.   Working as an Actor with MorePies Theatre Company has really allowed me to grow as a person. One of the most notable productions of the company was, ‘Hospital Food,’ a National Theatre collaboration with Shakespeare for Schools which had lead us as the company to tour with Tinderbox, appearing in the Playhouse Derry, as well as the Lyric Theatre, Belfast - amongst other venues around Northern Ireland. Working in a team as a cast member, learning lines, choreographing and blocking stage movements amongst stage-hands and technicians has helped to greatly increase my teamworking skills. The strict time management associated with theatre production, travelling to different venues and locations differing vastly from eachother, has also helped me to be ever more flexible when it came to challenges in adjusting the performance and play style to the specifications of the various venues. I had also design the promotional posters for the Company, to advertise the upcoming show. This allowed me to also showcase my talents as a then amture graphic designer. Show less
