Howard as the Principal of The Fisher Company is an experienced professional, who is very knowledgeable about the business of publishing. He is responsive to the needs of his clients and a valuable advisor to them, and is highly regarded by other professionals who have worked in the publishing industry for many years. I recommend Howard for advice concerning publishing enterprises and the sale and acquisition of them.

We purchased this 300-title supplemental education book publisher from Pearson. The publishing program was reinvigorated with new titles and revisions during our ownership. Many key titles aligned with national standards for math, science, social studies, and English. Sales representation and distribution were reestablished. Sold to Social Studies School Service in 2010. We purchased this 300-title supplemental education book publisher from Pearson. Robert Baensch asked me to create this unique, dynamic, and interactive forum for executives of medium- and small-sized publishers. Worked to create a curriculum that was highly relevant to the realities of operating an independent press in today's competitive marketplace. Formed an advisory group of twelve publishers and crafted two-day programs featuring fifteen featured guest speakers. Event was held at NYU for three years. My objective was to create a list of trade books from the wonderful HRD materials that were available. Working with a great editor, JoAnn Padgett, and great designers, John Odam and Tom Lewis, we created an incredible business and management list with authors the likes of Peter Block. Beginning with no trade distribution Bob Erdmann built an enviable network of wholesale, retail, and foreign distribution. The company was later sold to Jossey-Bas/John Wiley.
