As the CoS of a multi-national team of military advisors providing tactical to strategic military advice to the UN political mission leadership and Federal Government of Somalia on defence Sector Reform, to establish robust institutions in the Somali Defence Forces. Operating within a volatile, challenging mission, focused on peace-building and state-building in the areas of governance, security sector reform and rule of law in order to promote Security Transition from AMISOM to the Somali Security Forces. Building close working relationships with international diplomats, Somali politicians, the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and UN Senior Leadership to deliver national strategies and international resources to support the National Security Architecture. Providing specific advice to the development of the MoD and Somali National Army and the conduct of AMISOM operations in Somalia. Leading on the delivery of the Operational Readiness Assessment of AMISOM in order to baseline operational capabilities in order to inform Government and international partners and guide transition of the wider security institutions in Somalia.
