I manage the world's largest Kiwanis club with more than 540 of our top and most influential business, non-profit, government, education and civic leaders, as well as the Birmingham Kiwanis Foundation. Our club is continuing to grow and diversify to reflect the community that we serve. Our nearly $6 million dollar centennial project at Vulcan Park & Museum is now complete. We are expanding our reach in the community though our new club administered Kiwanis Reads, preschool literacy program and the launch of our Kiwanis Emerging Leaders Program for rising young professionals. I love finding new ways to put more money directly into our community and to expand our service opportunities to uphold our mission of building a stronger community through service. New initiatives are helping us build a stronger organization and a better community for our youth and families for another 106 years. Other initiatives: • Re-opening our Birmingham Kiwanis Foundation grants cycle for the first time since 2016 to award money to Birmingham area non-profits serving children • Diversifying communications with members and community by introducing published annual report, mailed quarterly publication and new membership management software • Implementing rebranding project • Creating DEI Task Force • Awarding additional scholarship money to graduating high school seniors • Expanding Kiwanis Reads pre-school sites in its first year and providing more than 400 preschoolers with books. • Finding new ways to assist our Kiwanis Reads students, including sending rising kindergarteners to school with backpacks filled with supplies • Providing volunteers as a sponsor of The World Games 2022 Show less

As a member of senior staff, I managed all internal and external communications and marketing for a church with more than 2,000 members, its Foundation and its outreach ministries. I’ve expanded the church’s reach and engagement, quadrupling the number of subscribers reading weekly email newsletters and increasing the daily web traffic from less than a dozen visitors a day to roughly 200 from ten different countries. My digital marketing efforts have led to people living outside Alabama joining the church. I also supervised and worked directly with staff and volunteers daily to coordinate and execute community panels, luncheons, fundraisers and other internal/external events. One of my chief responsibilities in working with our members, lay leadership and church committees was to ensure we are staying within the strategic goals and mission of the church. Other initiatives include: • Systems review leading to the reduction of inefficient, outdated and expensive technology • Creation and implementation of a crisis communications plan • Livestreaming of worship services to a new and growing audience online and on social media • Redesign and launch of new publications with a focus on storytelling • Rebranding the church and its ministries to bring them all together with one consistent brand identity Show less
