  • During my third year of my degree I worked for Encos Ltd, a small start-up company which uses waste vegetable oil as a ‘binder’ and when mixed with other waste materials such as Pulverised Fuel Ash, creates carbon negative masonry units. My role within the team was predominantly market research and analysis with a view to creating a prospects list and finding out other companies who may be investigating carbon negative and other environmental specific construction products. This work also involved planning and attending an event at the Excel Centre in London (‘EcoBuild’) where our product was put on display in order to showcase and raise awareness of the new technology and concept.
