In this role I led on the strategic development and management of the core CIPD website portfolio, including international sites, People Management magazine website and short courses ecommerce site.I owned the CIPD’s main web portfolio roadmap and oversaw platform developments, site maintenance, QA and web governance. I identified and specified technical and functional requirements and worked with a team of software developers to develop new publications and deployed site improvements over a series of sprints. Based on insights gathered from our Customer Research team, as well as data from Google Analytics and Hotjar, I evaluated the performance of the CIPD’s digital products and services and proposed iterative improvements and developments to provide effective customer experiences.I used design-thinking and user-centred approaches to understand the CIPD’s goals and customer expectations, undertaking customer journey mapping, prototyping and user testing to better understand our audiences and their needs.I successfully managed the Web team, providing clear direction and shared goals, whilst encouraging a creative and innovative environment for team members to develop new skills.
