I worked closely with the secondary principal and IBDP - IGSCSE coordinator, we assisted students with IB course selection, and shared university advising, career exploration. I coordinated the weekly SOAR-advisory sessions with grade level lead advisors in grades 9-12. I provided social-emotional and academic support for approximately 160 gr 9-12 students. I was ISS' CollegeBoard SAT, PSAT and SSD coordinator and was part of the ISS Child Protection team. I worked with grade 8-9 students regarding personal and social issues. I assisted grade 10-12 students regarding personal, social issues as well as IB course selection, career exploration and university guidance. With my high school counseling colleague, we developed and curated resources in consultation with grade level lead advisors to support the weekly secondary advising program from grades 6-12 to ensure the topics were relevant and meeting students' diverse needs. We implemented the use of Bridge U to track university matriculation data, and have substantially increased the number of university and college visitors to ISPP. As part of a 3 person team with homeroom split of students in grades 9-12, we collaborated on the planning of high school advisory classes with advisory teachers, MYP and IBDP coordinators. We also supported grade 10 students with IB course selection and their June 3 week work experiences. Additionally, helped high school students with career exploration, post secondary guidance and personal, social, academic challenges. I was UAS' first designated college counselor with senior cohorts that grew from 65 to 90 graduating students. I implemented the use of Naviance at helped build UAS' profile to universities and colleges globally. I created the first UAS school profile, tripled the number of university visitors to campus and set up a university counseling system for grade 10-12 students. I taught the college counseling portion (8 weeks) of a gr 11 and 12 interdisciplinary course. I started working at Ouareau in the summers of 1990-1993. I worked at other summer camps and returned in 1995,96, 99, and for shorter term contracts into the 2000s to accommodate my fulltime teaching schedule.Over the years, I learned to be a confident, competent and empathetic staff member and leader. I had a variety of roles over the years: Counsellor, Section Director, Counsellor in Training director, Canoeing Instructor, Office Manager, Driver, Archivist.
