"Congratulations on all you are doing to help protect elephants." Sir David Attenborough The ‘How Many Elephants’ Campaign is inspiring and educating a global audience about the devastating impacts of the African elephant ivory trade and supports female rangers on the front line. The powerful design-led campaign visualises data to bridge the gap between scientific data and human connection. ‘Part of the originality of this campaign is in our approach to avoid gruesome and shocking imagery to portray the facts. It is not about scaring people, it’s about sharing the sheer scale of the poaching crisis. To actually see and connect with this data visually is very impactful.’ Founder, Holly Budge How Many Elephants is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1186238. Show less

Dec 2021 - Present
World Female Ranger Week (WFRW), a global awareness event, is taking place on June 23-30th annually, to celebrate and support female rangers around the world. WFRW was launched by UK charity, How Many Elephants (1186238), as part of its mission to support conservation efforts. Currently, less than 11% of the global wildlife ranger workforce is female. HME aims to collate gender-specific data about female anti-poaching rangers, identify their needs, find tangible solutions, and build effective policies to contribute towards positive outcomes for female rangers and conservation as a whole. To accompany WFRW, HME has created an interactive and fundraising-focused platform, where female rangers can come together to tell their stories, have access to peer support, offer and receive advice, and share knowledge. HME is dedicated to contributing to the protection of elephants and other iconic species. By creating WFRW, wild animals will have a greater chance of survival, as there will be a stronger presence of anti-poaching rangers on the front line who will safeguard wild spaces and deter poaching activity. WFRW and How Many Elephants (HME) support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). www.worldfemalerangerweek.org Show less
