The organisation wasformed to address the crisis of patriarchy and lack of equity and equality in the industry.Responsibilities: • I nurture emerging female talent in the South African film and televisionindustry.•We create access and opportunity, internships and mentorships topreviously disadvantaged women and girls who are committed to theindustry• We nurture trainees from inexperienced to experienced• We create bridging workshops and have created a report back system fortrainees and trainers for the film production of consistent placement onactive productions• We identify trainers, we vet, and prime them thoroughly for their positions.Achievements: SWIFT conducted an anonymous survey in 2017 to determine thelevels of sexual harassment in South African film and TV industry. Theresults were nothing short of shocking. In response to the survey results,SWIFT created a PSA film, https://youtu.be/WX5mTuDkVxs to raiseawareness about sexual harassment in the industry. #ThatsNotOk Movement. Equivalent to the global #TIMESUP and #MeToo intersectional movements for women in all industries, standing up and voicing sexual harassment and sexual abuse in the workplace.
