      The aim of this internship was to use a new method to model the phenomena of the aggregation and breakage of the molecules: using the extended Kalman filter. We use an approach based on the resolution of a Population Balance Equation(PBE). This equation describes the evolution of a population density leading to a dynamic equation of the system. Afterward, we estimate the system state by using the Kalman filter extended in two steps, in the first step from an exact analytical solution of the equation to validate the filter operation, and then, using noisy experimental data.
