  It has been over 30 years since HIV emerged as one of the most significant global threats and our agency, like many others, was born out of that epidemic crisis. Science and medicine have changed HIV from a death sentence to a life sentence however we still experience that the mere mention of the word HIV can bring judgment and can instantly change interactions. Our vision at HIV Edmonton is Zero: Zero new HIV transmissions, zero stigma and discrimination and zero AIDS related deaths. HIV Edmonton works to achieve this vision by developing educational resources for community organizations, healthcare professionals and the general public; developing and delivering prevention, health promotion and support programs; and providing a voice for people living with, and affected by HIV and AIDS. We pride ourselves on the delivery of innovative programs and services that promote dignity, health and well‐being of individuals living with, affected by and at risk of HIV. Show less
