The Global Pulp and Paper industry is expected to increase, due to rising demand for paperboard packaging and tissue products. The demand for paper may projected at 521 million tonnes per annum by 2021. About 2.6% of the total world paper production comes from Indian Paper mills. However, mills are not allowed to own land or forest and can therefore not be self regulatory. Therefore, to maintain its structure, this industry in India is looking for alternate fibre resources. Secondly, crop burning is a huge issue wold-wide with farmers opting to use a matchstick as a cheap and a quicker way to get rid of crop waste post harvest before sowing the next crop. We, at Craste, are offering to use the crop-waste and covert it into value-added product to be used in paperboard and packaging industry offering solutions for a clean energy alternative source as well as tackling issues of pollution. Gramiksha is a non-governmental organization, registered under MP Society Act, 1973, that works in the fields of community development, child welfare, education and literature. It operates in India (Gwalior, Indore, Bhopal, Delhi, Bangalore, and Jaipur). It was founded on 30th August 2011. Our work is to create interest among students for education. We donate books, install medical facilities, make the school’s environment hygienic and also organize activities and workshops. Our team is composed of students and graduates from schools and universities, and quite a lot of young working people. We don’t promise to make the entire India literate (or maybe deep down, we do) and change the circle of education, but we do promise to make a difference in Indian literacy rate and hopefully, it will do wonders for us. Antibiotic resistance presents therapeutic crisis worldwide and one of its causative factors is multidrug effluxpumps/transporters. They eject drugs/substrate out of the bacterial-cell and render them resistant. My research focus is an ATP binding cassette transporter-MsbA (Essential E.coli protein) and extrapolation of its architecture and energetics involved in drug/substrate transport. Since MsbA is also known for its lipid A flipping, my study also covers the study of lipid transport. The other part of my project is to design de novo peptides to mimic the structure of MsbA and to inhibit its function to further extend the research for the development of potential therapeutic agents against E. coli infections. I was based in DMPK/ADMET department with specialization in drug metabolism. I worked extensively on NSAIDs or acidic drugs to extrapolate their metabolic fate in humans (especially liver) to develop an assay to predict any associated prospective idiosyncratic toxicity pre-clinically. I focused mainly on Acyl CoA thioesters as potential toxic metabolites for acidic drugs in hepatocytes and identified glycine conjugates as bio-markers for the presence of thioester dependent metabolites toxicity.
