Senior Program Associate

Sep 2019 - Dec 2021
As the Senior Program Associate for Generation Citizen, I supported the implementation of our action civics education program and curriculum with our Central Texas school partners. I worked to recruit and train teachers on our curriculum and provided support throughout the semester via coaching sessions. I worked to build civic communities within the areas we worked in, building and fostering relationships with donors, elected officials, and other community members to best expand our footprint and provide a network for students to contact. I supported the implementation of our program across schools in Austin Independent School District, Bastrop Independent School District, and Elgin Independent School District. I worked on expanding our program footprint to new schools in new districts across the state of Texas. I also supported our program in other sites like Oklahoma and New York, managing a small caseload of teachers in each state. I supported our Advocacy and Policy efforts during the 87th legislative session as well as during the first called Special Session in Texas, to try and pass comprehensive civic education policy. Chapter Director for Policy, Democracy Coach
-
Jan 2017 - May 2019
Facilitated a seventh grade classroom to teach them about the importance of their local government, and how they can impact change within their community. I led class with one other Democracy coach, twice a week. I guided the students in choosing an issue that was prevalent in their community, set a goal to impact change, and come up with tactics to achieve that goal. Additionally, from January 2017 I have served as my chapter's policy Chapter Director assisting the other Democracy coaches in research. Show less

Acted as the communicator between the client and the attorney. Called potential clients and took their information down to pass down to the attorneys. Had weekly meetings with the attorneys to inform them of any new information regarding the case. Made copies and collected any documentation that was needed to build a case. Additionally, assisted the staff with everyday work such as organizing files and sending emails. Acted as the communicator between the client and the attorney.
