As the Director and Founder of HBM-Edu Tech my responsibilities are•To Coach and mentor lecturers, students - Senya Education•Consulting Services – training strategy, e-learning, people development•Business growth and marketing•Instructional Design – ILT and e Learning•LMS Integration, implementation and administration•Curriculum and content development•Leadership and management development•Website management www.hbmedutech.co.za•Consult, manage the design and development of online learning content.•Advise on educational strategies and learning solutions.•Project manage learning design opportunities.•Career and staff development guidance.•Licensed practitioner - Insights Discovery.Effective online courses are well designed so that teaching and learning is organized in the most effective and engaging manner possible. In an online learning situation, the student’s learning experience is almost entirely mediated through some form of technology; therefore, the design of the teaching and learning experience is especially critical.Instructional Design is a broad term that encompasses the selection, organization, sequencing, and assessment of content, tools, and experiences to help learners attain a certain set of goals. Poorly designed technology-based courses can confound learning, frustrate learners and instructors, and result in high attrition rates. Oftentimes, a focus on Instructional Design often focuses on micro-level actions – which apps to use, which videos to include in a course (all important). I instead focus on many good, high-level, Instructional Design practices for creating effective online courses. HBM EduTech is the Official Learning Design partner for College SA and Tabaldi Enterprises. Show less

SITA (State Information Technology Agency) Responsibilities: •Designed and Developed Training material for Financial Management System The professional development of employees is crucial for a business to retain clients, stay competitive, and keep a firm grasp on company goals. In 2011, The American Society for Training and Development found American businesses spent around $156 billion on employee training, but it was discovered that when employees returned to their jobs, 90% of the skills they had acquired were lost. With little-continued follow-up and consistent reinforcement of significant testing, only 10% of the information was retained. In the past decade, technological advancements are offering new corporate training capabilities, and while many ‘stand-and-deliver’ methods can be exhausting and tedious for employees, technology is bringing life to corporate learning. New instructional methods are requiring specialized instructors, particularly those with technical know-how. INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY HEIGHTENS EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT Interaction with others and relevant material is one of the foundations of basic learning, so why wouldn’t training involve real, hands-on interaction? Interactive technology is changing the game of learning, and the benefits for corporate training are immense. Lecture-style training is not always the best method of corporate education, but the introduction of several types of technology is proving valuable to corporate learning. Show less

    • Principal
      • 1992 - 1996

As a school principal, I had many roles and responsibilities. One must assume complete responsibility for the school and its performance. A principal is the supervisor of all employees, including teachers, maintenance workers, administrative staffers, and any other employee of the school. Given the responsibilities held by principals, there are several general skills and traits that are necessary to be an effective principal of a school. As the school Principal, I managed the operations of the school and was responsible for ensuring that the school ran smoothly, remains safe, and provided an excellent learning environment for its students. Each staff member and each teacher employed by a school ultimately reported to me, so this position was highly regarded. Principal Requirements and Common Tasks Principals generally must have experience in both the classroom and school administration before reaching the position of principal. More experience in administrative roles is commonly regarded as stronger preparation for the position. Besides education and job history, there are several skills and traits necessary. First, one must be comfortable in a position of authority and be able to effectively command a school. A principal must also be an excellent communicator. A common task of principals is facilitating communication between employees, students, parents, the community, and both local and state governments. The day-to-day tasks of a principal can be, but are not always, straightforward. Principals ensure schools are run properly by analyzing curricula and interpreting standardized test scores and then making the proper steps to improve a school’s performance. Also, they will analyze a school’s budget and make executive decisions on how to allocate funds. Finally, principals are responsible for creating a positive environment by enforcing discipline to maintain safety as well as improve morale. Show less
